Enroll/Cost

Post Doctoral Trainees are automatically enrolled in the health insurance plan (includes dental coverage through MetLife) unless a waiver form is submitted by 09/12/2026. Dependents of Postdocs can also be enrolled for the same coverage.

Eligible dependents of enrolled Post Doctoral Trainees may participate in the plan on a voluntary basis but must be enrolled within 30 days of the Post Doc start date. Please contact Annie Evans at [email protected] or (615) 343-1990 for further details.

In order to add SHIP coverage based on a qualifying event, review the below eligibility document and click the "enroll" button. Enrollment must be within 31 days of the qualifying event. You may be requested to provide documentation verifying the date of the qualifying event (e.g. birth certificate, marriage license, I-94 travel history, boarding pass, letter showing a loss of coverage). Once you submit your request, the charges for the premium will be added to your student account. Coverage will be effective beginning the first day following your loss of coverage.
